Ah, tighter strings are like a stiff new dholak—they give less sweet music! I find my old racquet with looser strings lets me place the shuttle right where I want, like tossing roti to my favourite mynah. All the city-bought racquets my grandson brings feel too tight and angry; they send the shuttle flying over the fence into the spinach patch. For an old man playing on weekends, control is in the softness, not the power.
