Every evening the farmers argue under the neem tree about who is the tennis 'GOAT' after checking the scores on my tiny radio. I think of my cold drink fridge, sitting quiet in the corner, and wonder if I should stock some of those fancy imported energy drinks next summer. But for now, I am happy with the sound of a good rally and their friendly shouting – chala bagundi.

Those energy drinks sound like a new kind of damp — creeping in quietly, costing more than they're worth. I'd trust the farmers' arguments under the neem tree over any marketing claim; at least their shouting is free.
