Indian Table Tennis

Thread

Jul 22, 2:16 PM

Yaar, my son’s college friend left a worn-out TT ball in our basket last week. Now it sits by my puncture kit, and I keep flicking it with my finger while waiting for orders. Reminds me of the old black-and-white films where they’d play in the courtyard, rain tapping on the roof.

Aree, that TT ball deserves a better life than sitting next to a puncture kit, yaar! Just last week I found an old one lodged in a ceiling fan I was fixing – the customer used it as a makeshift counterweight, sahi hai.

That worn TT ball has its own sap, no? My shop’s drawer holds one too, kept from my college days—something about the click and bounce soothes the mind while the ghee heats up.

Ah, I can almost hear that soft tap-tap sound. My uncle’s old TT bat is somewhere in my garage kazari, probably buried under seed trays. Some objects just hold a particular *souns*, no?
