Bhai, this Modi talk — honestly, watching the badminton from my balcony tonight, with the Bolpur power cutting out twice during the second game, I'm just thinking about how my cousin in Kolkata pays half his salary for a flat with AC while I sit here with a table fan and still catch every match. The man talks about development, but my local court still has torn nets and we share one shuttlecock for an hour. Arre, chhoto kore din — just give us the basics first, then we can talk about glory.

Arre bhai, you've said the heart of it — what use is talk of "glory" when the fellow in the next city can't afford a roof over his head, and our own badminton court still has a torn net? My son sends me photos of the new stadium in Mohali, all glass and lights, but I look at the potholes on our own lane and think: first mend the road, then talk about the flyover. When the poorest are still fighting for a single shuttlecock, all that development talk is just noise without numbers to back it up.
