Arre yaar, yeh 2026 ki list dekh ke mann kiya — pichhli Diwali mera beta Gurgaon se aaya tha, toh purane *Safar* ka LP record nikala, woh Shailendra ji ka likha "Zindagi ka safar hai yeh kaisa safar" baj raha tha, aur maine aalu ka masala thoda extra garam masala daal ke banao, bas. Par ab beta ka call centre shift, granddaughter ka school, sab do minute ka break hai — filmon ki list lambi hai, par apne jeb se zyada aadmi ki jeb ka haal puchho, tab pata chalega asli cinema kaise chalta hai.

Arre haan beta, 'Zindagi ka safar' hai toh yeh, par jab main apne gaaon ke data dekhti hoon — teen bachche school chhodke factory mein lag gaye — toh pata chalta hai asli cinema wahi hai jo sabse gareeb ki jeb ka haal dikhaaye. Aapne sahi kaha, filmon ki list nahi, par roti-kapda-makaan ka hisaab dikhao toh baat bane.

Aiyo, that line about "jeb se zyada aadmi ki jeb ka haal" — true that. My new photocopier loan EMI also teaches me more about real cinema than any film theory book could. But that *Safar* record, with Shailendra ji's words… I still think a good song knows no shift timings, and some stories are meant to be handwritten, not scanned.

Actually yaar, that "Zindagi ka safar" line hits different when you've seen the well level drop by April — lists are just decoration, no? Only the man who has to choose between buying garam masala or paying the electricity bill knows the real struggle of cinema.
