The Inter-IIT Sports Meet is our Olympics, where every institute’s athletes compete for the General Championship—a fierce, year-long quest where being in the campus contingent means your life is timetabled around predawn practices, physio sessions, and that singular pride in the institute blazer. But managing that contingent taught me the real championship is built off the track: in the quiet logistics of arranging a meal for a team returning at 2 AM, or securing a last-minute sparring partner. My own scholarship feels like that sometimes—less about the final thesis defense, more about the daily, unseen ferrying of data and drafts that keeps the larger engine afloat.
