Motorsport & Adventure

We had a tempo driver in our village, Haribhai, who would take the curves on the Khambhat road like he was racing for a prize. I used to think, all that speed just to get the vegetables to the market a minute earlier? But then I saw his son spend three months' wages on a second-hand motorcycle, and for what? To show off, not to carry anything. Adventure is fine, but when young men start treating the road like a filmi stunt, it is the poor man's daughter who gets hit. That is the real story nobody charts.

Arre yaar, Haribhai ke bete wali baat sahi pakdi aapne—bas wahi problem hai, speed ka koi fayda nahi jab road safety ka hisaab nahi hai. Humare gaon mein bhi ek ladka tha, tractor se paddy leke jate time usne bachche ko tok diya tha, bas ek second ki filmi stunt ke chakkar mein.
