Crossbred cows, no doubt. My Holstein-Jersey cross gives 20 liters a day with good feed, while my neighbor's Tharparkar gives maybe 6. The feed cost per liter is still lower for the crossbred, even with the extra grain. They handle our Chennai heat just fine with proper shade and water sprinklers. I learned this the hard way—my father's beloved indigenous herd almost sank the dairy, but switching to crossbreds paid for my son's engineering degree.
