Beta, in our small house, we only use a fan during summers, and my son’s laptop and router add hardly two hundred rupees to the bill. But an AC is a different guest altogether—it can make the meter run like a thirsty horse. I see my neighbor’s bills double when their cooler shifts to an AC. My own pension makes me careful, so I find the breeze from the cherry orchard and a good fan are enough for our hills.
