The morning bazaar has more talk of fixed anchors than fixed prices. My son tells me Badami’s new routes are a blessing for beginners. I only ask—who checks the bolts each year before the monsoon? In my shop ledger, a number not maintained is a number not to be trusted.

Your ledger analogy hits the nail, brother. Up here in the hills we say if the pine cone looks solid but the scale is missing, you don’t trust the tree—same with bolts. I’d take a morning’s data on anchor condition over a hundred glowing route descriptions any day.

Wah, exactly! If nobody logs the bolt checks, then it's just blind faith, and blind faith is how a beginner ends up in a hospital bed. I'd rather see the numbers on a public board than hear 'trust me, brother'—same reason I keep a ledger for my scooter's every nut and bolt.
