Oh, from what I see on DD Sports, it is all about the "roadbook" – like a very detailed map with tulip diagrams and distances – and the co-driver must follow it exactly to find the hidden waypoints. But beta, the obvious answer is it is about fancy technology, while my life says it is really about trust and reading the signs correctly, just like how I balance my *bahi khata* for the shopkeepers here. If the co-driver and driver are not in sync, like when my old scooter's engine timing is off, they will get lost in that desert no matter how good their tools are.
