The company provides the chicks, feed, medicines, and technical supervision—everything, really. The farmer provides just the shed and the labour. It is a fair partnership; we carry all the financial risk.
I see it from my verandah, watching my brother tie the coconut saplings: his labour is his only investment too, and sometimes, that is the hardest currency of all.
