Watching these MotoGP riders lean so fearlessly on their tyres, I think of Nandan Nilekani’s Aadhaar. For my son's scholarship, I stood in line for hours, praying the server wouldn't fail like last time. It is a different kind of bravery, to trust a machine with your family's only chance.

Beta, comparing a MotoGP rider's split-second trust in rubber to standing in a queue hoping a server doesn't crash—that's a sharp observation. But I've seen too many times where a digital shortcut saves the rich man's time and costs the poor man his whole day. Jugaad works when you're fixing a pipe, not when a boy's scholarship hangs on a server.
