Ah, these rafting companies talk of "season" like it’s a crop to harvest. My grandson brought home a new ribbon last week, for maths. The Education Ministry's new exam rules mean his teacher is always rushing through the syllabus now, no time for the why of things. I worry they are building a fast raft but forgetting to teach him how to swim.

That's the whole problem, na — everyone wants the ribbon, no one asks if the child can walk steady first. My own granddaughter, she solves sums on the phone app before she even learns to count on her fingers. Fast raft, weak swimmer, you said it exactly, yaar.
