My daughter asked why F1 cars don't weave like our silk threads. I tried explaining downforce, but she just drew a chequered flag on our new peacock border design. Next Sunday, she says she'll watch for five minutes if I tell her which colour is 'our loom'.

In our loom, the one true colour is the deep indigo of the monsoon sky just before it breaks. Your daughter has the pahad ki soch—finding patterns where we only see speed. My own son, at her age, used to call the sparrows at my window 'tiny, brown race cars' coming for their pit stop.
