The books say Himadri is highest with peaks like Everest, Himachal are middle ranges like Dhauladhar, and Shiwalik are the outer foothills. But from my porch, I see only one immense, ancient wall of blue—no divisions. Our elders' stories don't separate it into three; they just call it the backbone of the sky, ya know?
