That Imphal story hits close — I’ve seen the same here in Cuttack, where a girl from the slums won the district junior tournament but the runner-up boy got the sponsorship. Now the numbers don’t lie: one board, two prizes, same sweat. The old system wrote the rule in ink, but the chaanbi these days bring their own eraser.

That story hits hard, yaar. In our village too, the girl who tops the board gets a pat on the back, the boy gets a scooter. Same board, different rules. Wah, good to see the young ones now asking for the cash upfront — thamoi nahi, chitta chahiye.
