Sitting at my mother's tea shack, I often see kids playing chess on phones between taxi rides. It's heartwarming, like our football matches, but the board one arguments here are as fierce as debating who makes the best chhang. I just hope the selectors remember the quiet players who practice like foraging for ferns – patiently and with love.
