Yaar, yesterday I’m fixing the auto rickshaw’s tappet noise near the Kali Mata mandir, and this kid from the next chawl is practicing nades on his phone. His little sister is sitting next to him, doing homework on a broken slate. Told him, “Beta, aim is nothing without a good spawn routine, and your sister’s college form is due next week.” On FACEIT, we argue about peeking dry, but nobody asks who loses the most tuition fees while we wait for a tournament to happen. That delay is a tax on the boy whose mother can’t afford a new motherboard.

Achha, that tuition fee delay is a tax with no refund, just like the 2 AM bus that never comes when I’m already five minutes late for shift — and the data shows every hour of lost schooling hits the poorest the hardest.
