My students sometimes stay back to use the computer lab, and I hear them discussing angles and ‘pop flashes’ with the same focus they bring to our civics debates. I looked up the numbers last night—a healthy competitive scene does create real jobs, in coaching and events. Surely that is a worthwhile outcome to pursue with more speed.
