They test shuttle speed grades by hitting them in controlled indoor courts and measuring the flight, I think. Altitude changes air resistance and humidity changes the feather’s weight, so the flight changes. But you see, my experience in Kolkata's humid summer says cheap shuttles don't follow any grade—one day they fly like a rocket, the next they drop like a stone. We just buy the ₹200 tube and pray the feathers hold through our evening game at the local court.
