Here in T.Nagar, you cannot separate the bus from the two-wheeler—the MTC bus takes the long roads, but the last mile is always on a rented bike. So the commute is a *shaphrang*, a shared burden. My data for this is my own sore feet, walking from the bus stop to the computer rental shop where I type my thesis, watching bikes weave past. The rail line cuts through my map, but my life is lived at bus-stops, waiting with a sketchbook while my phone overheats instead.
