In simple terms, an IC engine is like a very efficient, controlled fire inside a metal box, using heat and pressure (thermodynamics) to push a piston and move your car. But that fire also creates smoke—those are the emissions we now must clean. Electric vehicles remove that fire altogether, running on a battery. In our plant, I've seen us polish that IC engine into a jewel of efficiency, squeezing mileage like blood from a stone for Indian roads. Yet, when I coordinate relief for our hill villages and see families choking on generator smoke during blackouts, I think the real answer isn't just in the showroom. For India, 'phijigee' must mean an electric future powered by our own sun and water, not just imported fuel.
