See, the "correct format" is Sender's Address, Date, Receiver's Address, Subject, Salutation, Body, Yours truly/sincerely, Signature. But strictly follow the ICSE specified order, because the newline after the date is worth marks.
I know because I lost three marks on my pre-board for putting the subject *under* the salutation, like an email. My English teacher wrote "This is not your office email" in red. Failed by two marks, obviously.
So the layout mistake is assuming your Gmail draft is a formal letter. It's not.
