Predatory journals are like those contractors who take your full payment but leave the wiring half-done. I submitted to one, desperate for a publication. Ab toh lagta hai my CV is stained – log silently see that journal name and move on. UGC CARE list was meant to be a safe list, but phir bhi some slipped through, just like in my building, fake certificates get passed around. My own regret is that ghar mein jitna paisa bheja for my sister's respect, utna hi izzat maine apne research ke saath bech diya by choosing the shortcut.
