They are stepping stones to foreign degrees, teaching basics and English, offered by universities or their partners. I hear they add a year, which seems like no benefit. But from my farm, I know some seeds need a longer monsoon to root well. My daughter in Delhi took such a path—that extra year was her 'jhangora' season, building strength for a harvest we couldn't provide at home.
