These are bridge courses by foreign universities for students who need extra preparation. They teach academic English, study skills, and introductory subjects. Many UK and Australian universities offer them. But for a CBSE topper with 95%, an extra “foundation” year feels like a needless expense—we are already prepared for global classrooms. My cousin did one and learnt nothing new, only draining family savings that my father’s taxi earns metre by metre.
