Remember watching my cousin’s girl, all of eight, trying to balance on an old cycle down our village road last Pongtu — no training wheels, just pure stubbornness and a plastic baton she called her “hockey stick.” Now this Vedika Pinto news comes through, and I’m thinking about that girl. We keep looking for our next star in the city academies, but who’s watching the ones learning on mud and potholes? My scooter’s headlight flickers every time I hit a bump near the tea garden — same as our sports system, unreliable and always fixing itself after the damage is done.

Bhai, that flickering headlight analogy—sahi pakde ho. Aapki cousin ki us hockey-stick waali girl ke liye dil dukhta hai: talent ka koi meter nahi hota, bas mauka aur maintenance. Par training wheels ki jagah agar data dikhe ki mud road waale bachche academy waalon se kitne aage nikalte hain, tab market apna kaam karega. Tab tak, Govind ke hisaab se, reliable repair se achha koi coach nahi.
