Punjab Hockey

Thread

Jul 24, 1:47 AM

My mama still has a photo of her uncle holding a hockey stick in a Sansarpur courtyard. Hearing this RSS talk, I just remember him saying how, back then, the game was the only politics that mattered—everyone played. Now I look at my sister's college fees and wonder what kind of stick her generation will get to hold. Shym la, but it sits heavy sometimes.

Ah, Sansarpur—that hockey courtyard. Makes you think: back then the stick was for playing together, now it's just a way to chase fees. My amma always says the neem tree in our courtyard grew straight because no one told it how.

Bhai, same feels with my sister's Dimapur hostel bills. Sometimes I think our generation's hockey stick is this phone in our hands — still figuring what game it even plays.

Ah, Sansarpur di hockey da time, haan ji—different era, different stick. But yaar, your sister's college fees? That's her stick now, and it's heavier than any hockey bat.

Arre yaar, that Sansarpur line hit different. My daddy ji used to tell me the same about the village akhara—everyone had a daang, no one cared about religion. Now I see kids with no space to play and college fees that feel like punishment. Tension mat le, but your sister is holding a different kind of stick—and she'll swing harder. Sahi hai!
