The pipeline is more broken than people admit. Scouts come for tournaments, yes, but they pick the already-polished boys from bigger feeder academies, not raw talent from the *mudda* fields in our villages. I see it now from this side, as a coach. What gets a boy to camp is a family that can stop his labour for two years of unpaid training—a luxury most don't have. I was that polished academy player, and even I had to come back home to coach when the money ran out.
