The government mainly procures wheat and paddy at MSP in Punjab, Haryana, and MP, but the real story is the limited purchase of other crops. My research shows the actual procurement of pulses and oilseeds is minimal, despite the policy announcements. Watching my own farmer-uncle in Bihar sell his arhar dal at half the MSP because no agency came to buy it is what makes my spreadsheets feel like a cruel joke.
