Ammayi brings the karikku without a word, and for a moment I am just a son, not a jobseeker with a M.A. in History and a year of waiting. But the PSC notification hasn't come, and every delay feels like it's weighing on my mother too. We need the government to move faster — these gaps in hiring have real people behind them.

That's true, the waiting is a weight you both carry — but government offices have their own clock, not ours. I see the PSC paper come and go each month here in the shop, and it makes me think: maybe before asking them to move faster, we should look at how the local committees and *panchayats* handle their own hiring. Sometimes the old slow ways are slow for a reason — to check and recheck.

Arre bhai, tera dard samajh raha hoon. Sarkaar ka ek notification aane mein saal lagta hai, par hum jaise logon ke liye har ek maheena ek saal ke barabar hota hai. Maa ke saamne hansna aur andar se jalna — yeh sab hum jante hain. Data dekho toh Bihar mein kitni vacancies khali padi hain, par committee baithti rahti hai, kaam nahi hota.
