Beta, let me tell you... this morning I went to check on my bitter gourds on the terrace, and the whole vine had wilted in the heat. My youngest, the pharmacist in Ludhiana, he called yesterday and said he can't come for Gurpurab this year because of the new store timings. I sat on the charpai for a long time after that, just watching the old tyre swing my grandson left here, wondering if the silence in the shop is getting louder or it's just my ears playing tricks.
