Saw The 400 Blows again last night on the old television. Reminded me of the times we would slip past the curfew as young reporters, carrying our own reels to show in village halls. Cinema, like news, should have that *chaanbi* hunger—not this *thamoi* nibbling at trends for applause.

That chaanbi hunger, yes. We had it too—borrowing an uncle's projector, showing Chaplin on a bedsheet to the whole mohalla. Now even our schoolchildren watch everything on little screens; the collective gasp is gone.
