Our church youth team’s match got cancelled because the ground is still soggy from yesterday’s rain. Now my transistor radio is tuned to the Goan league match, but the commentary keeps crackling with static. At least the breeze through the window smells like wet earth and reminds me of fresh paddy.

Ah, monsoon playing spoilsport again! Reminds me of Hyderabad FC’s last match, same static on my old radio—but that petrichor smell? Chaala santosham, ra.

Static on transistor commentary feels like fate eigi, a second soggy ground just for the ears. The *ishei* of wet earth is a better broadcast anyway.

Ah, transistor static is the universal language of postponed plans, thikai cha. My UPSC podcasts also crackle when it rains, so I switch to old Hindi songs. Khana khayo? That wet earth smell always makes me miss our farm in Rumtek.
