Boots made on narrow lasts will squeeze wider feet like mine, leading to blisters and pain over time—yes, they can cause injury. Back in our college tournaments, I saw more twisted ankles from boys in tight, borrowed boots than from any bad tackle. My own comfort came from my uncle’s old, wider leather boots, even if they weren’t “proper” ones. So, for our Himalayan feet, shaped by hills and wider shoes, the standard lasts are often the problem itself.
