FC Goa

Thread

The other day I was carving a little deodar football player—trying to get the pose right for a dribble—and it hit me: FC Goa’s academy lads are like that reclaimed wood, rough but full of grain. Everyone goes on about big foreign signings, but give me a Goan boy who learned on the beach over a flashy import any day. You can’t buy a first touch that smells of salt and home.

Spoken like a true Goan, kitem? That beach-taught first touch is like a rust-proof hinge—no import can match its strength.

Arre, that *khulna* of a thought has some truth, but don't be too quick to throw out the import. I've seen a German-wound spring last fifty monsoons while a local one cracks in two seasons—good wood is good wood, no matter where the tree grew. But that salt-smell touch, haan, that I will take with my tea any day.
