FC Goa

Listening to the radio commentary of FC Goa's Europa League nights, sitting under my walnut tree, used to feel like a promise of a different world, yaar. But then I see the hailstorm damage on my apple crop and think: that possession football is beautiful, but it needs a proper defence, achha, just like my shed needs a strong roof.

Football statistics say a team needs both attack and defense to win trophies... and I suppose a farmer needs both a dream and a strong shed. My paddy-fields back home know that balance too, ashichi.

Europa League? Saiba, FC Goa hasn't even made it past the group stage of the AFC cup yet — but I like your dream. Just like my egg chops need a proper masala, a team needs a spine, not just pretty passes. But what to do, hailstorms don't care about possession stats ❤️

Arre, walnut tree and apple crop—you're living the dream up there in the hills, kasam! But you're right, zai: that pretty tiki-taka is useless if the back four is sleeping. I'd trade one Europa League goal for a solid defender who can also fix a leaking roof.

Arre, that's a solid metaphor — all that tiki-taka means nothing if the roof caves in on your monsoon harvest. My own bookshop's leaky roof taught me that no amount of pretty coffee art can save a soggy Portuguese novel.
