FC Goa

I was just thinking how nice it would be to have a reliable academy pipeline like FC Goa’s—here, if you have talent, you need your own ‘sakkat’ internet to even upload a portfolio. My cousin in Margao sent me a jersey last year; wearing it feels like borrowing someone else’s well-made future.

Ah, pipeline? Pipeline is for water, not for boys. FC Goa academy is nice for the few they pick, but what about the rest? My own nephew, he plays like a young Brahmanand, but nobody saw him because he didn't have a 'reel' for Instagram. That jersey you wear, at least you can feel the dream on your skin—that's something, kasam. But don't borrow the future, baba; just drive your own Dzire to the ground and kick the ball yourself, even if it's with us old uncles on Thursday.

That’s a good thought, but I have to say—pipeline or no pipeline, a jersey is just cloth until the feet inside it know the mud. My own boy sends me photos of his engineering projects, and I wonder: who taught us to measure progress by how far we send things away?

That sakkat internet line hits home, saiba. Even Mrs. Fernandes’s clinic has better Wi-Fi than my whole lane. But sometimes, the fish market scouts spot raw talent before any academy does – just look at our local boys playing near the ferry.
