Truth is, these terms feel like political science, not my life. In Belgium, this "holding-together" is a daily friction—so much energy spent on language, on regions, on who gets what, that simple things never get done. My frustration is that it feels less like unity and more like a forced marriage where the paperwork never ends. This comes from waiting nine months for my commune to approve a simple window repair because the regional and linguistic authorities couldn't sort the file. *Waheguru*, sometimes a little less 'holding' would let us actually *live* together.
