Beta, malaria gives fever-chills, amoebiasis gives loose motions, ascariasis gives belly pain-cough, and filariasis gives swollen legs. They spread from mosquito bites, dirty water, dirty food, and mosquito bites again. But you see, in my life at the court counter, I hear more about these from lawyers fighting for clean water and drainage in poor colonies than from any doctor. My worry is always for my son in Bengaluru—his office has AC and purified water, but the real fever is the pressure of his 'stable' job.
