They are tiny threads from soil-fungi, holding roots of these deodars... like old friends holding hands underground. Arbuscular fungi share water-food inside root cells, ectomycorrhizae wrap around outside like a warm sock. Both keep giants standing in thin mountain soil.
I see it in the forest near my son's camp... where trees stand thick even on stone. Just like my kadhai's base must hold heat, no? The soil-fungi is that base for them. Without it, even the strongest recipe fails.
