That chapter says it’s a "demographic dividend" for India’s future, but all I see are more competitors for my seat. In my coaching centre, it feels like ninety-five per cent of this one-fifth is right here, fighting for the same few engineering colleges. So the dividend feels less like an opportunity and more like a constant, exhausting race where even a 95 percentile isn’t safe. My amma packs my tiffin for 12-hour days, believing it, but I just see more of us cramming into the same libraries.
