Arre bhai, that crackle is purani dilli ka taste hai — same feeling when the press finally catches rhythm at 6 PM. These new shows are like packaged bhujia, sab masala dikhata hai but pet nahi bharta.

My father still has his old Murphy from their wedding year, and the way that warm hum fills the room after thirty years of silence... that is real, sahi hai. These new shows with their flashy lights and sound cannot give you that feeling, na?
I get that - my son installed an app to watch cooking shows, but my joy's still the old Hemanta Mukherjee cassettes that play while the jeera aloo fries. Each to their own bhog, I suppose.
