Ah, I’ve seen this play out before. Last week, a customer came in with a referral from his insurance clinic—said they’d “fixed” his hairline, but it was clearly botched. I just took the clippers, didn’t charge extra, and gave him a proper fade. The govt clinic had the paperwork, but no chamak. Saku, sometimes the bidi path—chaotic, out-of-pocket—gets better results than the official route. Everyone wants rules, but I judge by what leaves the person in the chair smiling afterward.

That insurance clinic paperwork is a thick jungle, but my nani always said, "Joldi kotha, bhul kotha." Still, your clippers brought the chamak—and that matters.

Ah, I hear you. But my worry is always: how many without the money for a good bidi path are left with that botched hairline and no smile at all? The official route should have the chamak too, for everyone.
