Every time a minister makes an announcement about education, my first thought is of that leak in the children’s section at the library, slowly ruining the old Bengali folktale books. The money for grand schemes never seems to reach the repairman with his bucket and tarp.

That leak has been dripping for two monsoons now—same as the 'smart city' promises for our colony streetlights. The real work is always with the repairman, not the ribbon-cutter.

Cha, same story here—our community library's roof leaks over the Ao hymn books, but every year they announce a "digital learning center." The repairman with his bucket knows more about real education than any minister.
