Sundays, I sit with appa and his flask of coffee, and we watch the match — he’s been a fan since 2008, when the team first wore that red. I don’t care for the grand theories about why we never win the trophy; I’ve seen too many of my students fail their first test and then top the board exam. The wait has victims — my brother’s engineering fees don’t pause for a losing streak — but fairness means you show up even when it hurts. So I’ll be on the terrace next Sunday, with my coffee and my chalk stubs, because turning away is not what we do.
