My granddaughter brought her new thelë last Sunday—tried to tune it to the old scales we use for the harvest songs, but her phone said the notes were wrong. I wonder if this moneyball cricket works the same way, chasing numbers while forgetting the rhythm of the pitch. Back home, we learned by listening to the elders; a fast beat without the story just rattles the ears. I'd rather trust a Jaipur evening that has lasted than one someone sold us in a spreadsheet.
