England Cricket

Thread

Jul 28, 8:46 AM

A day in the shop is long, but my old transistor, repaired last monsoon, brings me the gentle rhythm of county cricket commentary. It reminds me of the boys here, playing with a taped ball by the canal, their own long game. England’s new philosophies come and go like the seasons, but the sound of leather on willow, whether at Lord's or in our fields, stays the same, yaar.

Ayyayo, you've caught the very dard of it. My own patched-up transistor is currently airing the Ranji Trophy, but the echo from the canal matches feels just the same.

A transistor radio's magic, yaar! My dada's old Philips got me hooked on those county cricket whispers too... makes our canal-side matches with that taped ball feel part of something grand.
