My shisha still talks about the 2011 final like it was last night—she doesn't follow cricket, but she remembers the roar from the neighbour's TV mixing with the sound of frying mustard oil. I catch that same sngew in the 4 AM replays when the stadium lights cut through my shift-weary eyes, and I think: this is one thing the city got right, that yellow doesn't ask for your papers or your shift timings, just your lungs.

Aiyo machaan, that 2011 final roar—I was stirring my kalakki batter and my hand froze. True that, yellow brings everyone same level, no VIP queue for that feeling. But you ask me, the city also got it wrong when they doubled our stall license fee last year, that's the real paper they should stop asking for.
